Privacy Policy

We collect your email when you join our waitlist. We use it to tell you when Hauly launches and to occasionally share curation drops. We don't sell your data, we don't run ad cookies, and you can leave anytime by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

Who we are

Hauly is operated by an independent publisher based in Cambodia. For any privacy question, email hello@hauly.asia — we read everything that lands in that inbox.

What we collect

When you sign up to the waitlist, we collect:

• Your email address.
• Your preferred language (English or Khmer), inferred from your browser or your manual selection.
• The date and time you subscribed, plus a record that you consented to receive emails from us.

When you simply visit hauly.asia, we receive anonymous analytics through Cloudflare Web Analytics: page views, country (derived from IP, not stored against your visit), browser and device type. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no profiling. Our hosting layer (Cloudflare) also processes your IP address transiently to deliver the page and block abuse — this is a standard server log, kept for short periods.

We don't collect names, phone numbers, payment information, location data beyond country-level analytics, or anything else not listed above.

How we use it

• To send you the welcome email when you sign up.
• To send you the launch announcement when Hauly opens to the public.
• To occasionally share curated product drops, once we launch — you'll always have a one-click unsubscribe.
• To measure aggregate site traffic (visits, countries, top pages). These numbers don't identify you individually.

We don't use your data to build advertising profiles, we don't share it with ad networks, and we don't train AI models on it.

Who we share it with

We use three processors to operate Hauly. They each get only the data they need to do their job:

• Brevo (our email service provider, based in France, GDPR-compliant): stores your email and language preference, sends emails on our behalf.
• Cloudflare (our infrastructure provider): handles DNS, hosting, email routing, and anonymous web analytics.
• Google (Gmail): receives mail sent to hello@hauly.asia and other addresses on hauly.asia, where we read it.

Beyond these three, we don't share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.

Cookies and tracking

We set no first-party tracking cookies, and we load no third-party tracking scripts — no Facebook Pixel, no Google Analytics, no advertising tags. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless by design. The only client-side data we store is your language preference, saved in your browser's localStorage so the site remembers your choice on return visits. You can clear it anytime in your browser settings.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can:

• Unsubscribe at any moment via the link in any email we send.
• Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Request correction of anything inaccurate.
• Request deletion of your record.
• Object to processing, or withdraw your consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@hauly.asia. We aim to respond within 14 days. If you live in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with a data protection authority, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with that authority.

Data retention

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe. Once you unsubscribe, we remove you from active sending within 7 days and delete your record from our active list within 30 days. Backup copies are purged within 90 days. Anonymous analytics are retained at the aggregate level for as long as we operate the site.

International transfers

Brevo stores data in the European Union. Cloudflare operates a global edge network and may temporarily process your IP address in the region closest to you. By signing up you understand that your data may be processed in these locations. Where required, we rely on EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Children

Hauly is not intended for children under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has signed up, write to hello@hauly.asia and we'll delete the record.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Hauly evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Significant changes will be announced by email to active subscribers before they take effect.
